CBE: Monthly core CPI inflation recorded 0.8% in January

Monthly headline urban CPI inflation, published by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics on February 10, 2022, recorded 0.9 percent in January 2022 compared to negative 0.4 percent in the same month of the previous year and to negative0.1 percent in December 2021, Accordingly, the annual headline inflation rate recorded7.3 percent in January 2022 compared to 5.9 percent in December 2021.

Monthly core CPI inflation, computed by the Central Bank of Egypt, recorded 0.8 percent in January 2022 compared to 0.5 percent in the same month of the previous year and to 0.2 percent in December 2021. Accordingly, the annual core inflation rate recorded 6.3 percent in January 2022, compared to 6.0 percent in December 2021.
