Costa Rica Inflation Rate is the Highest Since 2009
Costa Rica’s consumer prices increased by 11.48 percent year-on-year in July of 2022, following a 10.06 percent rise in the previous month, It was the highest inflation rate since April of 2009, mainly boosted by higher prices of food and transport.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices climbed 1.09 percent, the lowest since February, easing from a 1.78 percent gain in the prior month.
Of the 289 goods and services that make up the index, 72% increased in price, 18% decreased in price, and 10% showed no variation.
