Financial Times: “Nakhla” in the Grand Egyptian Museum is among the best gift shops in the world
“Nakhla” at the Grand Egyptian Museum ranked eighth on a list of 22 museum gift shops worldwide, according to the British newspaper Financial Times.
The newspaper reported that the glorious new iteration of Cairo’s Grand Egyptian Museum has taken so long to come to fruition that when it opens fully later this year and early next year, it will be something of a gift itself.
The Financial Times said that the site already boasts an entire shopping arcade with a museum shop, showcasing Egyptian artisans who specialise in gold- and silversmithing, alabaster work, weaving and more.
And highlighted Nakhla, the standalone boutique of the eponymous jewellery brand, situated at the feet of the iconic statue of Rameses II. Which was founded by Ikram Nakhla, the founder and owner, and Laila Neamatalla, the co-founder, and Malak Nakhla is the design sector head.
