TO ENHANCE DIGITAL PAYMENTS: SAMA ENABLES JCB CARDS ACCEPTANCE IN THE KINGDOM

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announces the readiness of the national payment system “mada” to allow cardholders of JCB International (JCBI) to conduct digital payments through point-of-sale (POS) devices and cash withdrawals via ATMs.

This service seeks to enhance the experience of visitors to the Kingdom who hold JCB cards by facilitating digital payments via local participating banks and licensed Payment Service Providers. 

This initiative reflects SAMA's ongoing efforts to develop a robust digital payments infrastructure and provide a variety of digital payment services to meet the needs of visitors to the Kingdom by expanding the scope of acceptance of global payment networks in the Innovative and advanced digital payment solutions are part of Saudi Vision 2030 objectives for realizing a less cash-dependent society.
